Big Give Christmas Challenge 2019 logo

During 3rd-10th December 2019 over £15.6 Million was raised for charitable causes through the Big Give – a record amount for the annual Christmas Challenge.

What is the Big Give Christmas Challenge?

The Big Give Christmas Challenge provides a platform for a range of charities and projects to double donations towards their cause through match-funding. Listen to Alexander Armstrong for a quick overview of how it works.

What does the Big Give have to do with REED?

In short… A LOT!

  • In 2007 The Big Give was set up by Sir Alec Reed, founder of the REED group. Since then the online giving platform has helped raise over £115 Million for great causes both domestically and internationally.
  • The Big Give HQ is based in our reed.co.uk (Reed Online) offices and our Co-Members there support the technical aspects of running the website.
  • Many of the projects showcased on the Big Give platform are match-funded by the Reed Foundation – the charitable arm of the REED group that owns 18% of the company.
  • Almost every REED office and its Co-Members are involved in supporting specific charities / campaigns during the Big Give Christmas Challenge.

Improving Lives Through Work

Our purpose at REED is simply Improving Lives Through Work.

Everything we do across all parts of the REED group ultimately helps our communities and societies in both the UK and further afield.

Our people at REED are key to delivering on our purpose: whether that’s a consultant helping match a candidate to a client in Reed Specialist Recruitment, a job-seeker finding their perfect role or course through reed.co.uk, or someone who has been out of work for an extended period of time receiving support from Reed In Partnership.

All of this in addition to the great work of the Reed Foundation, and other charitable activities of our business and Co-Members.
