REED Senior Business Manager Ladislav Hajek has been featured in the latest edition of Business Leaders magazine in the Czech Republic.

Ladislav, who heads up REED’s offices in the Czech Republic, recently featured in Business Leaders magazine; one of the Czech Republic’s leading business publications. In the article Ladislav shares his advice on both interviewing for management positions and on how to deal with difficult employees.

Regarding advice around interviewing for management positions, Ladislav advises his audience to inform interviewers of their capability through examples rather than generic phrases:

“Since the ability to pay yourself a compliment without coming across arrogant is often tough, aim to define what good management is first. Then talk about yourself positively by explaining what you’ve done, rather than simply repeating words like ‘responsible’ and ‘good leadership skills.”

Business Leaders article, 3/2018 (translated)

For new managers having to deal with difficult employees, Ladislav recommends a five step approach to transition a tricky situation in to a manageable solution:

Find out the facts > Start listening > Don’t make it personal > Make a plan > Know when it’s not working out > Have the courage to make a positive change

Ladislav’s final words of wisdom to readers is simply,

“Deal with difficult employees with courage and confidence, and you can quickly turn the negative into a positive. Whether it’s for that staff member’s career, or the morale of your entire team.”
