Supporting The Chineke! Foundation (Big Give)

With the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2020 set to launch on 1st December, we wanted to shine a light on some of the great charities due to be featured on the match-funding platform.

One such charity is The Chineke! Foundation, a charity whose mission is “to provide outstanding career opportunities to established and up-and-coming Black, Asian and ethnically diverse classical musicians in the UK and Europe.”

Charity Overview

Chineke!’s motto is: ’Championing change and celebrating diversity in classical music’. Hear from founder Chi-chi Nwanoku OBE in the video below about why she felt creating the charity was needed.

Supporting The Chineke! Foundation through the Big Give

For those that don’t know, the Big Give was established by Sir Alec Reed in 2007, and the majority of its operating costs are absorbed by Reed.

The Big Give provides an online platform to pair charities with philanthropists and philanthropic foundations (including the Reed Foundation). The supporting partners provide funds which are drawn from to match individual donations, essentially doubling the amount a person gives.

The Chineke! Foundation has received support through The Big Give in the past and will feature again in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2020.
