The Job crowd have released the Top Companies for Graduates and Apprentices to work for in 2021 and Reed have again secured top spots within the top 30 and top 40 rankings.

Similar to the Glassdoor Best Places to Work awards, the Job Crowd rankings are made up from employee reviews, which is why the positioning is valued so highly.

Our Graduate Scheme…

The Graduate Training Scheme across Reed has been in operation for over 20 years, with the first graduates enrolling in 1997. Since then, the scheme has continued to produce a whole host of business leaders including directors and heads of departments.

The three-year scheme differentiates itself from other graduate employers through the flexibility the scheme offers its graduate trainees. This year we adapted and flexed what the scheme had to offer. Most co-members have been working from home/remotely, with many of our new starters having started their careers with us without visiting an office.

Graduates already on the scheme showed great resilience and adaptability by working on secondment roles in parts of the business they were not familiar with. These included working with teams to support the recruitment of key workers across the UK.

Our typical onboarding process includes each new cohort gathering at the Reed Business School; the last time we were able to do this was at the start of 2020. Since then, virtual inductions over Microsoft Teams have become the norm, and like many new ways of working that have been introduced over the last year, it’s something we are keeping to an extent as we move forward with a blended learning approach.  Read more about our graduate scheme structure here.

Our Apprenticeships…

Our Apprenticeship scheme continues to go from strength-to-strength and since its launch in 2018 has picked up several accolades including being shortlisted at the 2019 HR Distinction Awards, and winning the ‘Most Motivational Benefits’ category at the prestigious Employee Benefits Awards.

Industry leading learning and development is at the forefront of what Reed has to offer our co-members, from our Kickstart Scheme and Apprenticeship Programme, right up to Senior Management. Reed were the first employer in England to see apprentices complete the Recruitment Resourcer Apprenticeship in 2019.

The events of the last year mean we have not only adapted our Apprenticeship programme to accommodate remote working and support our existing apprentices, but also to galvanise our plans to relaunch the scheme.

The refreshed version of the Apprenticeship programme is now ready to welcome our first new cohort this summer. Find out more about the Apprenticeship scheme here.
