Finance Analyst

Job Overview

The focus of this role is to aid the Commercial Finance team to gain a thorough understanding of the key drivers for the business; and its sales and support functions.  You will assist with the planning,forecasting,and financial modelling processes; with a view to improve performance,maximise profit,and identify risks. This will be done by producing regular reports and analysis.

Key Activities

  • Weekly and monthly reporting,working with revenue channel teams to add insight to sales activity

  • Maintaining robust procedures to appraise the commercial performance of the sales function,producing actionable insights for senior management

  • Work with non-finance teams to ensure post-evaluation learning is incorporated into future business activities

  • Project work with key stakeholders to identify reporting requirements and ensure that these are delivered within schedule

  • Produce ad-hoc analysis of ongoing trials to understand performance,draw out key learnings and suggest areas of improvement

  • Continuous analysis of processes within finance,proactively offering alternative proposals to improve these processes

  • Calculate sales targets and commissions,and post associated month-end journals.

  • Strong relationship with stakeholders

  • Development of reports to match business needs

  • Producing timely and accurate information in a fast moving environment

  • Ownership and development of the Reed Online bonus model for the 150+ sales team.

Capabilities and Competencies

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience

  • Studying or willingness to study towards relevant financial qualification such as CIMA or similar

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Experience communicating with senior stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to use own initiative,and voice own thoughts and opinions

  • Experience working in a digital,online,or technology company advantageous

  • Agresso,Anaplan,and/or Salesforce knowledge is desirable but not essential.
