Paid Search Manager

As we continue to evolve the complexity of our paid search offering, we seek a paid search superstar to join our digital marketing team. 

We have a highly visible, category-leading brand and a reputation for creating innovative and exciting new ways of connecting with consumers. We work with the best agencies and partners, and require a highly skilled paid search expert to help us take our B2B and B2C strategies to the next level.

Your background will be agency or client-side, and you will have hands-on experience of building, running, and optimising multiple paid search campaigns. You will have expert level, executional knowledge of Google Ads, Bing Ads, Apple Search Ads, UAC campaigns, SA360 (including experience running inventory management campaigns, and using Business data), and optimising feed based campaigns.

Reporting to the Performance marketing lead, the successful candidate will help set the strategy and direction paid search, alongside our agency partners, for B2B and B2C campaigns. You’ll assist with overseeing key supplier relationships, joint business plans, and budget allocation and management. 


  • Hands-on experience of running multi-million pound, profitable paid search campaigns, across a range of industries
  • Expert level understanding of, and experience using all paid search platforms, including Google Ads, Bing Ads and SA360
  • Experience running Inventory management campaigns 
  • Experience writing scripts to add further efficiency to paid search campaigns 
  • Experience using feeds to run campaigns (non-retail desirable)
  • Demonstrable ability to link paid search performance to other channels, and awareness of its importance as part of the user journey 
  • Highly commercially aware, highly analytical, numerate and performance-driven, with experience of managing budgets across large-scale campaigns
  • Ability to differentiate and optimise towards multiple KPI’s, at different stages of a user’s journey
  • Ability to relay complex data sets in an “easy-to-understand” narrative
  • Advanced understanding of GMP (particularly SA360)
  • Practical experience using Google Analytics to derive insights that inform future campaign performance
  • Expert level understanding of audience management 

Nice to haves:

  • Experience working with platform teams (e.g. industry managers at Google), to further enhance campaign performance
  • Previous experience working with a recruitment site or Job board (or similar non-retail, high listing industries, such as the hotel industry)
  • Experience using econometrics and other advanced media measurement outputs for planning
  • Advanced Excel skills (SQL/Python/C++)
  • Bachelors/Masters degree educated, preferably in a numerical/science subject (eg Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering or Economics) 
  • Have the relevant work experience
  • Experience directing an agency

The Role

You will be required to: 

  • Working with our paid search agency to run efficient, highly profitable paid search campaigns, optimised towards varying KPI’s by intent/business area
  • Own and deliver data-driven, performance paid search strategy for the acquisition of B2C (and potentially B2B) audiences
  • Work with Marketing Analytics to forecast, set, manage and optimise multi-million pound budgets across various platforms
  • Work with Marketing Analytics to advise and refine reporting, optimisation and attribution, including in-depth analysis of CAC, LTV, CPA and ROI of all activities ensuring maximum efficiency
  • Ensure the business remains at the forefront of any relevant new betas and technologies by coordination with various internal and external partners
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset
  • Define the planning process and reporting cadence, to effectively leverage insights and drive improvements in marketing performance 
  • Carry out reporting using your advanced Excel abilities and using BI tools (ideally Looker, GA360, Appsflyer)
  • Develop formulas and build reports with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Understand and execute Google Ads Scripts
  • Relay performance, data and strategies to senior leadership team as part of a digestible narrative
  • Work within cross functional teams, including Analytics, Data Science, BI, Product, Finance and Sales
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing, on a company wide basis
