Job Overview

The Senior Devops Engineer will help us implement,manage and construct our infrastructure-as-code,release pipelines,service reliability and infrastructure security. They will work with a team of engineers and help to set a vision & strategy for devops at Reed Online and then execute it.

The devops team will be responsible for collaborating with delivery teams delivering customer value,balancing speed,cost,quality and risk.

What success will look like in 1 year

  • Robust and high quality devops practice

  • Small team built

  • Delivery teams enabled to build and run infrastructure and appropriate ‘low code’ with appropriate governance

  • Improvements made to our cloud platform,increasing delivery speed and product flexibility

Key Activities

  • Create,release and test infrastructure changes

  • Create and maintain release pipelines

  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues relating to infrastructure

  • Implement a high level of security auditing and monitoring

  • Improve our use of cloud platforms

  • Website speed MTTFB

  • Service Availability

  • Lead Time/Cycle Time

  • Time to complete scale events

  • % of projects with build and release pipelines

  • % automated operational tasks
