At Reed we can proudly say that we are a responsible British business that gives back to its local, national and international communities.

For 60 years we have supported commerce and employment through the work that we do. In addition to this, Reed has supported society even further through the work of the Reed Foundation, our associated charities, and the charitable activities of our individual offices and co-members.

“Encouraging philanthropy is my main mission now; but without entrepreneurialism to make the money, there would be no philanthropy.”

The Reed Foundation owns 18% of Reed

The Reed Foundation was set up by Alec Reed in 1985 and has owned 18% of the Reed Group for over 30 years. The funds directed to the foundation are at the heart of our charitable giving.

With one fifth of profits from the group invested in charitable causes, our co-members can proudly say that we work one day a week for charity.

We give big

The Big Give was established in 2007 through funding from the Reed Foundation and operates with support from our Reed.co.uk offices in Covent Garden.

To-date it has helped raised £100million for UK and international causes through match-funding and other innovative services to connect charities with donors and philanthropists.

“The Big Give is a generosity multiplier. The charity has recently set itself the target to raise £1 billion for good causes. The more champions, supporters and donors that we can connect with, the sooner we will reach that goal… Spread the word!”

James Reed
CEO and Chairman, Reed Group

We give globally

In 1989 the Reed Foundation invested over £1m of charitable funds to establish both Ethiopiaid and Womankind Worldwide.

Both charities still operate today with Ethiopiaid having invested over £36million to help alleviate poverty in the most impoverished communities in Ethiopia, and WomanKind Worldwide continues to support women’s rights campaigns around the world.
